Áron Gábor

Festőművész / Painter

Biography

“As a painter, virtuoso graphic artist, installer, sculptor and video artist, Áron Gábor, who started out in the early 80s, works as well. From the beginning, his artistic approach was characterised by radical eclecticism. He has created an instantly recognisable, districtly individual formal world. The commonality of the visual basis and the individual signature link his works created in different media.
His method of merging different experiences and knowledge, of merging different sign systems by projecting them on each other, is typical of a turn-of-the-century, or millennium, world view and taste. His art is characterized by a strong graphic element in his painting and by a diverse use of media. He works in painting, printmaking, experimental film, sculpture and installation. In his final period he captures the diversity and drama of characters through abstract heads and faces. Over the past forty years, his work has been included in museums and private collections around the world. He has participated in fellowships and study tours in Europe and overseas.”
