Biography

"I always talk about movement, as a basic source of inspiration for my creations, in such a sense that I am striving to maintain that ability both in myself and in the spectators that we should be able to re-decipher MOVEMENT in the FORM, or to be more precise, to maintain that ability that we should be able to immediately sense form as movement. We live in such a world where this type of creation has to find its place between the two poles or extremes – on the one hand the tendency of dallop-like, sort of gurgitating, unformed creations having only masslike extensions and on the other hand, the strictly precise, mercilessly accurate form-creation - as a connecting, integrating one. In this, I can see the triumph of the organized and functioning life that works productively not only in nature but in human creations as well. I like going on to the boundaries, expanding them but not going over them or bursting. The bone-like appearance of the form stems from the technique that has been developed by me. My rounded plaster forms fit into the hollows of the porcelain as the flesh adheres to the bones. My affection to this world of forms probably can’t be completely discovered even for me either. In my experiments, I went to those boundaries, where something new was born out of the creations. As it is with the plants: green leaves are sprouting, one after the other, and there is a point when something new emerges – a colourful flower. The flower is not something completely different from the other parts of the plant; rather, it is a transformation of it in a world seemingly having different laws. We can see here a transition from the world of unceasing growth to the exciting world of colours and scents. At experimenting with my creations, I ventured in growing and shaping the seams to such an extent that I can look upon them not as faults any more but as completely new form- and surface-shaping tools – in the creation of the soft, rhytmically waving insides and the sharper surfaces. The thinness or thickness of these outer reeds and the rhythm of the soft, inner curves give together that gently pulsating overall outlook that I intend to visualise on my mainly circularly simmetric objects. This is the reason why, some kind of inferior, undefinably plant- or animal-like, transient, general impression is the outcome."
