Biography
"My basic artistic approach,
which can be classified as geometric, concrete, stems from the spirit
of the Lantos School in Pécs in the 1970-1980s.
My
work is a recording of the equilibrium of concrete physical, colour
and formal processes in plane and space, in search of the state where
matter and form become one.My
sculptures and reliefs, as a result of the internal material tensions
that arise in their material in response to minimal external
influence, are in fact self-constructing.
The
visual tension of material, form and colour contrasts is the result
of minimal planar and spatial displacements, a system of which has
led me to create my own formal language.
The
deconstructions of the formal order thus reduced respond in their
openness to events in their surroundings, transcending the boundaries
of the concrete visual order in their meaningfulness."
"I was born in Pécs, Hungary in 1955. I'm qualified engineer and designer. I studied Industrial Design at the University of Applied Arts in Budapest from 1980-1984. Since setting up my own design practice Zalavari Design in Budapest in 1984. In 1985 begins I teaching activity at the same university. I were given a professorship in ecodesign at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 1999. I have developed products, lighting, street furniture, corporate identity for several companies.I head a International Design Workshop Zsennye from 2004. I'm a sculptor.
